Why nobody wants to make a contract for cleaning services?
Hi everybody,
I´m angry and tired about this situation..
I´m a cleaning lady working for 13 private flats each week, and nobody wants to make a contract even if is less than 100 francs per year!
What is this? Where is the legality in this country?
It will be like my country soon, i mean...catastrophic! But i need to have same rights like everybody because is my work, is not a hobby and i´m tired to listen "today don´t come, im in hollidays, i forgot the key..."...so...it does mean, this week i don´t pay my flat, i don´t pay my insurance!! Is not fair!!!
Please, i need explanations to know why is so complicated?? Is 3.8 francs more and i´m legal, i could be quiet if someday i´m sick, if i want to have hollidays like them, if i will be retired to have my pensium...really angry!!!

I'm very sorry to hear about your story and I can undestand your angryness.
People here in Switzerland are still brave because they dont know yet about the consequences what it can bring for them, when they hire a worker illegal. Deffentyl it's a crime and super illegal!
I could only advice you to file a case against this people but then you will also be affected:-( i hired a cleaning lady some years ago but i payed all the insurances and AHV.
Today I'm going to open my own business in "Reinigung" and then Im the one who will clean in other households and I will make it legal for my self.
Hi there!
Like Charlyn, I am very sorry for your situation.
I think, for for ex. a familiy hiring somebody for cleaning services (as the only employee hired) it is very complicated (all the insurances and AHV-payments etc.). What you could do is:
Offering your services "white" by adding visually to your hourly rate:
8,33% holiday surcharge
9,7% AHV
and organise your insurances yourself as every other self employed.
Make sure, that you really pay the AHV yourself at the end of every half a year. If you need any advice, there are people on the RAV or at the city council helping you with other infos.
This way, you are sure, that the AHV is paid, aswell as that you have paid holidays (4 weeks => 8,33%) and it is easier for the person hiring you. The missing hours you cant probably claim, as you are still working on a hourly base.
Take care!
